You may need to place a bill pay payment on hold to protect your customers and ensure the integrity of the transaction. Common reasons include verifying account information, reviewing potentially suspicious activity, or confirming sufficient funds. These precautionary steps help minimize risk and maintain trust in your payment services.
Once you've done your diligence on the held payment, you may choose to release it to complete the payment to the designated payee.
Releasing a held bill pay payment
Go to the Transaction Research feature in the Main Menu to get started. From there, you'll need to search for the transaction using the search fields provided.
Once you locate the transaction you wish to release from a hold, double click it to open the Payment Details screen.
- Click Release to release the payment from a bank hold.
You'll see a success confirmation message once the payment has been released.
