Place a bill payment on hold

You may need to place a bill pay payment on hold to protect your customers and ensure the integrity of the transaction. Common reasons include verifying account information, reviewing potentially suspicious activity, or confirming sufficient funds. These precautionary steps help minimize risk and maintain trust in your payment services.

To place a bill pay payment on hold

Go to the Transaction Research feature in the Main Menu to get started. From there, you'll need to search for the transaction using the search fields provided.

Once you locate the transaction you wish to place on hold, double click it to open the Payment Details screen.

  • Click Request Hold.

  • Type in a reason for the hold in the Reason section, then click Place Hold.

You'll see a success confirmation message indicating the payment is now being held. The Payment Details for that payment will now indicate a status of Bank Hold.
