At the start of each year until January 31st, businesses receive a 1099K form for the previous tax year if those businesses processed payments through Autobooks. Autobooks is required by the IRS to provide a 1099K to businesses that process credit/debit card transactions and meet the following threshold:
Requirements for 2024:
- $5,000 or more in payments processed in the tax year. (threshold subject to change)
How will the business receive a 1099 form from Autobooks?
If the SMB opted to receive an electronic copy:
Log into Autobooks and navigate to Settings. Click the Tax information tab. If they've processed enough through Autobooks to require a 1099, they'll see one available for download.
NOTE: Only primary account administrators will be able to access the Tax Information tab.
By mail (if the SMB chose not to receive electronic copies):
1099 forms will be mailed via US Mail to the physical address we have on file for the Autobooks account. You can see the address on file by visiting Settings, then clicking on the Company tab.
When will the 1099 forms be mailed by Autobooks?
Autobooks mails 1099 forms no later than January 31 for the prior tax year.
How can I obtain a 1099 from a previous tax year?
Please contact Autobooks if you need a copy of a 1099 form from a year previous to 2024.
